Views of the cars taken during the verification procedures for the 49th edition of the Rallye Jean de la Fontaine pictured at the Avenue du Mail, Soissons on 17th May 2024. As usual the Ville de Soissons had provided this splendid location for the administrative tasks.

The early specials of the rally were beset with problems as there were course blockages caused by vehicles crashing whilst negotiating the difficult conditions on some parts of the muddy tracks. The SSV's and T2 cars completed ES2 Aizy-Conde as planned but only three T1 cars completed the special, all the remaining cars drove through the neutralised special in convoy and were given the same time of 12'38.5 except Denis Artola who was awarded 12'21.8

Les premières spéciales du rallye ont été semées de problèmes en raison de blocages de parcours causés par des véhicules écrasés lors de la négociation des conditions difficiles sur certaines parties des pistes boueuses. Les SSV et T2 ont bouclé l'ES2 Aizy-Condé comme prévu mais seules trois voitures T1 ont bouclé la spéciale, toutes les voitures restantes ont traversé la spéciale neutralisée en convoi et ont obtenu le même temps de 12'38.5 sauf Denis Artola qui a obtenu 12' 21,8

ES4 Aizy-Conde ran well after modifications to the course after blockages on ES2 its first run.
Fastest in SSV was Valentin GIRAUD and Antoine BAUCHET in their Can Am XRS by 28.4 seconds.
in T2 4x4 Andy Sargeant and Chris Hammond took the honours in their Landrover Defender by 29.1 seconds.
In T1 4x4 Benoit Bersans and Cedric Nicolau took first by a margin of 31.8 seconds in their Fouquet Nissan,
and in T1 2WD Gregory Boucher and Romain Brocheton were fastest by 38.8 seconds in their Fouquet Honda.

ES4 Aizy-Condé a bien couru après des modifications du parcours suite à des blocages sur ES2 lors de son premier run.
Les plus rapides en SSV ont été Valentin GIRAUD et Antoine BAUCHET sur leur Can Am XRS avec 28,4 secondes.
en T2 4x4, Andy Sargeant et Chris Hammond ont remporté les honneurs dans leur Landrover Defender avec 29,1 secondes.
En T1 4x4 Benoit Bersans et Cédric Nicolau ont pris la première place avec 31,8 secondes d'avance sur leur Fouquet Nissan,
et en T1 2RM, Gregory Boucher et Romain Brocheton ont été les plus rapides avec 38,8 secondes sur leur Fouquet Honda.

The pictures here were taken on the embankment next to the church in Cierges. From that viewpoint the cars could be seen approaching the village down a fast track for over 500 metres before entering the village through a double bend then passing the church and turning left at the top of the hill before departing the village.

Les photos ici ont été prises sur le talus à côté de l'église de Cierges. De ce point de vue, on pouvait voir les voitures s'approcher du village par une voie rapide sur plus de 500 mètres avant d'entrer dans le village par un double virage, puis de passer devant l'église et de tourner à gauche au sommet de la colline avant de quitter le village.

The location for our pictures was at an 180 deg bend 8.8km into the special just to the west of Cierges on a track very familiar to regular participants of the JDLF. Valentin Giraud was quicket in the SSV Group, whilst Bruno Bartolin took first in the T2 4x4 Group. For T1 4x4 Vincent Poincelet was fastest and Gregory Boucher took first in T1 2WD.

Le lieu de nos photos était dans un virage à 180 degrés à 8,8 km de la spéciale juste à l'ouest de Cierges sur une piste très familière aux participants réguliers du JDLF. Valentin Giraud s'est imposé dans le Groupe SSV, tandis que Bruno Bartolin s'est imposé dans le Groupe T2 4x4. En T1 4x4, Vincent Poincelet a été le plus rapide et Gregory Boucher a pris la première place en T1 2WD.
