68th Rallye des Cimes - ES2 Azkunamendi 1 The 68th edition of the Rallye des Cimes took place on the 6th, 7th and 8th September 2024. Pre rally formalities were held at Licq-Atherey, on Saturday the focus moved to Mauleon follwed on Sunday by the traditional finish in Tardets-Sorholus. Following the very heavy rain during Verifications on Friday morning the first special Friday afternoon was cancelled and ES2 Azkunamendi, on Saturday, became the first test. Parts of the course were still very wet but under the hot sun the tracks were drying out fast. André Dalgalarrondo of TéléCimes recorded the pictures. La 68e édition du Rallye des Cimes s'est déroulée les 6, 7 et 8 septembre 2024. Les formalités d'avant-rallye ont eu lieu à Licq-Atherey. Le samedi, l'attention s'est portée sur Mauléon, suivie le dimanche par l'arrivée traditionnelle à Tardets-Sorholus. Suite aux fortes pluies lors des vérifications du vendredi matin, la première spéciale du vendredi après-midi a été annulée et l'ES2 Azkunamendi, le samedi, est devenue la première spéciale. 		68th Rallye des Cimes - ES5 Azkunamendi 2 By the time the cars reached Azkunamendi for ES5, the second pass, the sunshine had dried out some of the slippery sections encountered on the first passage. Andre Dalgalarrondo had climbed to the hilltop field where on the first pass cars were overshooting the right hand bend onto the farm track. The drying conditions had made this turn much easier for the second pass. André Dalgalarrondo of TéléCimes recorded the pictures. Au moment où les voitures ont atteint Azkunamendi pour l'ES5, le deuxième passage, le soleil avait séché certaines des sections glissantes rencontrées lors du premier passage. 		68th Rallye des Cimes - ES8 Satxaga 1, SSV & 4x4 The pictures here were recorded by André Dalgalarrondo of TéléCimes, John Hilton and Keith Maxted. The SSV cars negotiated the course successfully however the T2 cars suffered a blockage which resulted in the special being neutralised for the T2 (4x4 Production) group. 		68th Rallye des Cimes - ES8 Satxaga 1, 4x4 & 4x2 The pictures here were recorded by André Dalgalarrondo of TéléCimes and John Hilton. There were several problems on this special and as a result of blockages many of the cars drove the last half of the special with neutralised times. I have included all the action as it was recorded. 		68th Rallye des Cimes - ES11 Madeleine, SSV & T2 4x4 This was the final special of the Rallye des Cimes 68th edition. A delay of two hours through blockages on the previous specials had depleted the public attendance but despite that the leading cars put on a good show on the iconic climb to the finish line. Twelve SSV and four 4x4's crews completed the event and they are pictured approaching the finish line on Madeleine. The images here were recorded by André Dalgalarrondo of TéléCimes and John Hilton. C'était la dernière spéciale de la 68e édition du Rallye des Cimes. Un retard de deux heures dû à des blocages sur les spéciales précédentes avait réduit l'affluence du public mais malgré cela, les voitures de tête ont offert un beau spectacle dans la montée emblématique jusqu'à la ligne d'arrivée.
