47th Dunes & Marais 2024 - The Prologue Some views of the competitors completing the pre rally procedures prior to the start of the 47th Rally of the Dunes and Marais, held on the 4th, 5th and 6th October 2024. This year's rally was hosted at St Palais sur Mer and supported by the communities in the Royan region on the west coast of France. Crews completed their reconnaissances on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of October prior to the administrative and scrutineering activities which commenced at 15:15 on the Friday afternoon. Quelques vues des concurrents effectuant les procédures pré-rallye avant le départ du 47e Rallye des Dunes et des Marais, qui s'est tenu les 4, 5 et 6 octobre 2024. Le rallye de cette année s'est déroulé à St Palais sur Mer et a été soutenu par les collectivités de la région de Royan, sur la côte ouest de la France. Les équipages ont terminé leurs reconnaissances les 2, 3 et 4 octobre avant les activités administratives et de contrôle technique qui ont débuté à 15h15 le vendredi après-midi. 		47th Dunes & Marais 2024 - ES3 Chapitre P1 In the SSV Group the leading cars as they started ES3 Chapitre 1 were Guillaume Noirot by 17.4 seconds ahead of Anthony Menanteau with Valentin Giraud 22.0 seconds down in third place. In the T2 4x4 Production Group Guillaume Riviere led in his Jeep Cherokee by 46.3 seconds ahead of Bruno Bartolin in his Nissan Pathfinder with Fabien Daigneau and his Jeep Grand Cherokee 59.1 seconds behind. Dans le groupe SSV, les leaders au départ de l'ES3 Chapitre 1 étaient Guillaume Noirot avec 17,4 secondes d'avance sur Anthony Menanteau et Valentin Giraud à 22,0 secondes en troisième position. In T1B, the 2WD group, Gregory Cottereaux was leading Xabi Incargaray by 10.6 seconds with Joel Darbourne 26.9 seconds behind in third place. 		47th Dunes & Marais 2024 - ES5 Meursac 2 P1 We view the cars as they approach the road crossing 6.4km into the 9.2km Meursac special. This special is new to the Dunes and we see the cars on their second pass of this test. As they start the special Guillaume Noirot is leading the SSV's by 42.6 seconds and Guillaume Riviere the T2 cars by 34.3 seconds. Nous observons les voitures à l'approche du croisement routier, au kilomètre 6,4 de la spéciale de Meursac longue de 9,2 km. Cette spéciale est nouvelle pour les Dunes et nous voyons les voitures à leur deuxième passage dans cette spéciale. 		47th Dunes & Marais 2024 - ES5 Meursac 2 P2 We view the cars as they approach the road crossing 6.4km into the 9.2km Meursac special. This special is new to the Dunes and we see the cars on their second pass of this test. As they start the special Stephan Barthe leads by 10.1 seconds, Vincent Poincelet is second and Mathiew Hirigoyen third at 43.8 seconds. Louis Dronde was in fourth place at 51.7 but goes on to take the fastest time on Meursac 2 by 2.8 seconds ahead of stephan Barthe. In the 2WD Group Gregory Cottereaux leads by 31.6 seconds ahead of Joel Darboure with Xabi Incagaray 3rd on 39.5 seconds however a dramatic change is about to occur. Nous observons les voitures alors qu'elles s'approchent du croisement routier à 6,4 km du départ de la spéciale de Meursac de 9,2 km. Cette spéciale est nouvelle pour les Dunes et nous voyons les voitures lors de leur deuxième passage de cette spéciale. Louis Dronde était en quatrième position avec 51,7 mais prend le meilleur temps sur Meursac 2 avec 2,8 secondes d'avance sur Stephan Barthe. Dans le groupe 2WD, Gregory Cottereaux mène avec 31,6 secondes d'avance sur Joel Darboure avec Xabi Incagaray 3ème avec 39,5 secondes mais un changement radical est sur le point de se produire. We were unable to arrive early enough to record the SSV Group so we join the action with the leading T2 car. In the 2WD Group Michael Jonnaux has taken over the lead, 7.0 seconds ahead of Xabi Incagaray, Joel Darbourne having dropped to third place 10.3 seconds down. A l'approche du départ de Brie 1, Stephan Barthe creuse l'écart sur Vincent Poincelet à 30,1 secondes, Louis Dronde étant troisième à 55,6 secondes. 		47th Dunes & Marais 2024 - ES11 Jaffe 2 P1 As the cars depart ES11 Jaffe 2 Guillaume Noirot leads the SSV Group by 1'14.0 ahead of Valentin Giraud with Anthony Menanteau close behind on 1'21.5 In the T2 4x4 Production Group Bruno Bartolin leads Fabien Daigneau by 1'39.7 with Constant Ravanne on 2'43.4 in third place. We were treated to a rain shower whilst some of the T2 cars passed and that put a slippery top on the tracks.
